Build the Knowledge Behind
a Defensible Credential.
Earning a CIRS™ or NIRSAT™ credential starts with understanding the methodology. Our courses are built by clinicians who have spent decades producing and defending impairment ratings in real workers' compensation and motor vehicle cases, not by instructional designers working from textbooks.
What Does This Curriculum Lead To?
AAEME courses prepare physicians for certification exams, and it is the exams that confer credentials. Courses provide the clinical methodology and case-based instruction; exams verify competency and issue the CIRS or NIRSAT designation. Both are required steps in the certification process.
Two credentials. One rigorous methodology.
Whether you are seeking national certification for motor vehicle and workers' compensation cases, or fulfilling Nevada's statutory impairment rating requirements, AAEME's curriculum is built around the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment as applied in real legal and clinical settings. Complete the relevant course, pass the exam, and earn your credential.
Courses That Lead to Certification
All three certification courses are taught by physicians with active impairment rating practices. Each combines recorded instruction with case-based application, and concludes with a structured assessment. Upon completion, you are eligible to sit for the relevant AAEME certification exam.

Psychological Impairment Rating Program

- DSM-based impairment evaluation for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and stress disorders
- Neuropsychological conditions: TBI, chronic pain, peripheral nerve involvement, sleep disorders
- Methodology for separating neuropsychological from physical impairment in combined claims
