User Accounts and Registration

Account Creation

To access AAEME courses and certification services, you must create an account on aaeme.com. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, including your full legal name as it appears on your medical or professional license, your NPI number if applicable, your state license number(s), and a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Profile Completion

Upon creating an account, you are required to complete a profile before accessing course content. This profile collects professional credential information necessary for certificate issuance and regulatory compliance. Failure to complete this profile may result in restricted access to course content and inability to receive certification credentials.

Certificate Accuracy

Your CIRS™ and NIRSAT™ certificates will be issued exactly as your legal name appears on your AAEME registration and profile. By registering, you confirm that:

  • Your full legal name as entered matches the name on your current medical or professional license
  • Your NPI number and state license number(s) are accurate and current
  • You will notify AAEME of any changes to your licensure status that affect your eligibility to hold a CIRS™ or NIRSAT™ credential

Name changes or corrections after certificate issuance are subject to a certificate reprint fee. AAEME is not responsible for errors in certificates that result from inaccurate information provided at registration.

Courses and Educational Content

License to Access

Upon enrollment in an AAEME course, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the course content for your personal, non-commercial educational use only. This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any course content.

Intellectual Property

All content on aaeme.com, including but not limited to course materials, videos, text, graphics, logos, examination questions, study guides, and the CIRS™ and NIRSAT™ credential designations, is the property of AAEME or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, or otherwise transfer any course content or materials to any third party. You may not share your login credentials or permit any other person to access your account or course materials. Each enrollment is for a single user only.

The CIRS™ and NIRSAT™ credential designations are trademarks of AAEME. Certified physicians and healthcare professionals may use these designations after their name to indicate certification status. You may not use these designations in a way that implies endorsement of any third-party product, service, or organization by AAEME, or in any manner that misrepresents the scope or nature of the credential.

Accuracy of Content

AAEME makes reasonable efforts to ensure that course content is accurate and current. However, impairment rating standards and state requirements change over time. You are responsible for verifying that the methodology you apply in practice complies with the requirements of your specific jurisdiction. AAEME does not warrant that course content reflects the most current requirements of any specific state at any given time.

Certification Examinations

Exam Access and Eligibility

Access to AAEME certification examinations is granted upon payment of the applicable exam fee. For certain exams, completion of the corresponding AAEME course is a prerequisite. Sharing exam access credentials or allowing another person to sit the exam on your behalf is strictly prohibited and constitutes grounds for immediate credential revocation and permanent account termination without refund.

Exam Conduct

By accessing a certification examination, you agree that:

  • You will complete the exam independently without assistance from any other person or unauthorized resource
  • You will not share, reproduce, publish, or disclose examination questions or any portion of exam content in any format or medium
  • You will not use AI tools, answer-sharing platforms, or any other unauthorized resource during the examination
  • You will not attempt to access the exam from multiple devices or locations simultaneously
  • Questions must be answered sequentially and you cannot return to a previous question once answered

AAEME monitors exam sessions including IP address, session duration, device information, and question response patterns. This data is retained for the life of the certification and may be used to investigate suspected violations.

Passing Score and Certificate Issuance

A score of 75% or higher is required to pass all AAEME certification examinations. Upon passing, your CIRS™ or NIRSAT™ certificate will be issued electronically to the email address on file within a reasonable time following exam completion. A physical certificate is available upon request for an additional fee. Exam fees are non-refundable regardless of your result.

Credential Revocation

AAEME reserves the right to revoke any CIRS™ or NIRSAT™ credential at any time if AAEME determines that:

  • The credential was obtained through fraudulent means, including proxy examination or use of unauthorized materials
  • The certificate holder provided materially false information at registration or during examination
  • The certificate holder has engaged in conduct that brings the AAEME credentialing program into disrepute
  • The certificate holder's professional license has been revoked or suspended in a manner affecting their eligibility to perform impairment ratings

Revocation of a credential does not entitle the certificate holder to any refund of fees paid.

Nevada Physicians

AAEME is designated by the State of Nevada as a certification provider under NV Rev. Stat. 616C.110. Nevada-licensed physicians who perform workers' compensation impairment ratings are required by statute to hold a valid NIRSAT™ certification. By enrolling in the NIRSAT™ course or examination, Nevada physicians acknowledge their obligation to comply with all applicable Nevada statutory requirements, including renewal requirements applicable to their license type.

AAEME is required to report NIRSAT™ examination results and certification status to the State of Nevada. This reporting is a legal obligation and is not subject to opt-out. Passing the NIRSAT™ examination also satisfies the AMA Guides 5th Edition national CIRS™ certification requirement.

MDs and DOs: one-time NIRSAT™ certification. DCs: exam once, course renewed every 2 years per NV Rev. Stat. 616C.110.

Payment and Pricing

Current pricing for all AAEME courses, examinations, and study materials is displayed on aaeme.com at the time of purchase. AAEME reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect purchases already completed. All fees are stated in US dollars and are due in full at the time of purchase. All payment card transactions are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor. AAEME does not store your full payment card information.

No Refunds

No Refund Policy

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. AAEME DOES NOT OFFER REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FAILURE TO PASS A CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION; FAILURE TO COMPLETE A COURSE; CHANGE OF MIND AFTER PURCHASE; DUPLICATE PURCHASES; TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ON THE USER'S END; CHANGE IN PRACTICE, EMPLOYMENT, OR LICENSURE STATUS; OR DISSATISFACTION WITH COURSE CONTENT.

By completing a purchase on aaeme.com, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you are not entitled to a refund under any circumstances. If you have questions about a course or examination before purchasing, contact support@aaeme.com prior to completing your transaction.

If AAEME cancels or permanently discontinues a course or examination for which you have paid and not yet completed, AAEME will issue a credit toward another AAEME product of equal or lesser value.

Chargebacks

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your financial institution for a valid AAEME purchase constitutes a breach of these Terms and Conditions. AAEME reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and revoke any credentials earned if a fraudulent chargeback is filed. AAEME will provide documentation to your financial institution to contest any chargeback that does not comply with these Terms.

Continuing Medical Education (CME/CEU)

AAEME courses are offered in partnership with accredited third-party CME/CEU accrediting bodies. Completion of eligible courses may qualify for CME/CEU credit as indicated in the course description at the time of enrollment.

For paid courses, the cost of CME/CEU credit processing and certificate issuance is included in the course enrollment fee. No additional fee is required. For free courses or activities, a nominal administrative fee may be required for the processing and formal issuance of CME/CEU certificates. Any applicable fee will be disclosed before you are required to pay it.

Learner completion data, including your name, NPI number, completion date, and credits earned, will be shared with the applicable accrediting body as required for credit issuance. This data sharing is a requirement of CME/CEU accreditation and cannot be opted out of by learners seeking to receive credit. Learner records related to CME/CEU activities will be retained for a minimum of six years from the date of course completion.

WPIRS Software

Access to WholePerson® Impairment Rating Software (WPIRS) is governed by a separate software license agreement presented at the time of purchase. Use of WPIRS is subject to both these Terms and Conditions and the applicable software license agreement. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the WPIRS software license agreement, the software license agreement governs with respect to software use.
